In the year 2021, many are wrapped up in politics, drama, and the normal struggles of life. But many forget to realize the raw emotional power a human can produce. One human can create an entire movement of people with the pure beauty and emotion of art. The power of art is incomparable. It can bring millions of people who are vastly different to bond over one specific thing. Art is the ultimate form of expression. Whether it’s music, painting, drawing, or dancing, art inspires many to continue their lives with a purpose.

Artists like Twenty One Pilots Create a bond between people. Thousands of fans are packed in an area all screaming the same lyrics together. The goal of Twenty One Pilots is to promote life and stop suicide. As someone who has been to one of their concerts, the fans are some of the nicest people I have ever met. With them, I’ve made some of the greatest friendships of my life. Art is a movement and the ultimate solution that brings people together.

Art is in the shirts we wear and shoes we tie onto our feet. There is so much to be said about someone in their fashion. This form of art expresses who a person is or more importantly who they are trying to be. The art of fashion shows every individual’s social agenda such as being a “jock” or a “gamer”. By presenting the art that they are presenting on their body, one can say which group they are associated with without even speaking.

As art expresses social stereotypes, it also breaks down social barriers. I am a Junior in high school who takes part in sports but also does school musicals. I use music to express my true self, a person who is free on stage. However, my teammates who are “jocks” tend to joke around with me about it. After the shows in March, my teammates responded very positively. They came up and told me how awesome it was and how they all really want to join as well. My school musical was a form of art that served as a bridge between two completely different social groups. The musical shattered the wall that is stereotypes, bringing everyone together.

Have you met anyone who doesn’t listen to music? Have you met a person who hasn’t seen a movie? I would bet all my money that the answer is no. Many religions are expressed as art. Churches around the world use music and paintings to represent their religion and move their agenda. Many biblical stories are told through writing in books and written accounts. Art is used in expressing human purpose. As humans we thrive on art, it doesn’t just represent our personality but rather it is our personality. Art defines us and our race as a whole. So, the question arises. Without Art, What Are We? The answer, nothing.
